Miss Salsa Blue (Blue Brazil) was the great favourite of the Prix de l’Amiénois which brought together a lot of top quality horses. She had just won the Prix Marise at this course last Tuesday, but this time in heavy ground. This time however, the track was fast but this did not upset Catherine Coiffier’s filly.
As usual, Miss Salsa Blue took the lead at a steady pace. Jumping efficiently, she saw Djedda Conti (Network) come to her side at the end of the line across the straight, but she arrived at the final fence full of running. In the last couple of furlongs she easily repelled the challenge of Dance with Jersey (Spanish Moon) who was finishing strongly.
Now with three successes in four outings, Miss Salsa Blue is definitely a filly for the future. Her trainer, Francois Nicolle said: “She goes well on all ground types. This race was a step up and there were quality horses in it. However, she won well, putting a good kick to finish. After her three successes in four outings, she’s going to have a break. The form is stacking up well after Dance with Jersey confirmed his earlier victory gained in the Prix de l’Yonne. He beat Jedda Conti who is highly regarded and should also make a good filly for the future.
From the Seventy Heart family, Miss Salsa Blue was bred by Catherine Coiffier. Her dam, Brave of Honor (Baroud d’Honneur), won three races over jumps and was second in the Prix Georges Pelat in Auteuil. She was also bred Bravarde (Kapgarde), third in the Prix Léopold Bara.
