The next Yorton Stallion and Youngstock Parade will take place at Yorton Stud on Thursday 19th December at 12.30pm.
We’re delighted to introduce 2 new stallions to the stud; Masterstroke and Scalo who will be paraded for the first time at Yorton.
Masterstroke was bred by Darley and has been standing under its banner at Haras Du Logis in France since he retired from racing – his oldest crop are four-year-olds and already include seven individual winners over jumps in France. David Futter says “Masterstroke is a stallion we have been trying to secure for some time now and we are grateful to Darley for letting us purchase him. Bloodstock agent Richard Venn provided valuable input. “It is very difficult to acquire a stallion of Masterstroke’s calibre who ticks all the boxes that we like to see in a Jump stallion. He is the most wonderful looking horse with a great temperament, which is so important, and his pedigree could not be any better.”
Scalo, is a son of leading Jump sire Lando – whose progeny include the top-class jumpers Fox Norton, Air Force One and Caracciola – Scalo’s own progeny include Laccario, winner of the 2019 Gr.1 Deutsches Derby. “we are delighted that Scalo is joining our roster. We have been keeping an eye on him for some time, and, in common with other proven horses we have stood, it was his stock which caught our eye first. “They are great models with wonderful temperaments and are proving they perform at the top level. Not many Gr.1-winning stallions breed a Gr.1 winner themselves. “From limited opportunities Scalo has had seven runners over jumps in France and three individual winners. His percentage of winners to runners is 58 per cent.” explains David.
Also, on parade will be Gentlewave who has recently returned to Yorton after standing in France last season and Pether’s Moon. Alongside the stallions we will also be showing the latest exciting crop of Yorton youngstock.
Food and refreshments will be available.
