It is fair to say that POSTPONED has fully settled into life in the Powys countryside as he embarks on his third covering season at Yorton in 2026. However, his progeny seem in a hurry to enhance their sires’ ever growing reputation with a quartet of jumps winners over the last few days.
The Nicky Henderson trained LAUGHING JOHN (5yo) (main picture) was one of the most impressive recent performers at Wincanton on 25th Feb scoring by an eased down 8Ls for Owner/Breeder Jean Sillett in the Albert Bartlett Triple Crown H’cap Hurdle over 2m 4f. This was his second consecutive victory having followed up on his win at Doncaster last December & he looks like one to follow going forward.

Anthony Honeyball is having a great season thus far & recent recruit MARHABA PRINCE (5yo) gained his maiden win for the West Country trainer at Chepstow over 2m on 21 Feb. Purchased for £50,000 after winning a Junior Bumper for Owen Burrows, the son of Postponed had shown consistent form being placed on all of his previous three starts & justified 7/5 favouritism under Ben Godfrey.

Two further winners over hurdles completed the run of success for their sire with THE PROCRASTINATOR (4yo) scoring at Hereford on 11 Feb by 6Ls having previously won a Bumper at Doncaster for the combo trainers Richard Newland & Jamie Insole. POSTPONED LEGACY (5yo) made it three wins from four runs when taking the 2m Novice hurdle at Huntingdon by over 4Ls. Trained by Martin Keighley in the Cotswolds, he was bred by long time Yorton supporter Bob Russell out of the very well related Aga Khan mare, Zaralanta.
YORTON SALE GRADUATES HEADED BY IMPRESSIVE P2P WINNER
The Yorton Sale also produced a run of winners in recent days with the youngster TITI MONTMARTRE (pic below) looking a very exciting prospect by winning the Goffs GB Pointing Bonus Young Horse Maiden at Alnwick on 21 Feb. The 4yo son of Montmartre (as his name would suggest!!) was making his debut at the Northumberland track & now heads to Philip Hobbs & Johnson White’s Somerset yard having been purchased shortly after his victory.

Other winners from the sale included ITI DITTO (ITO) at Chepstow in a 2m H’Cap Hurdle for Nicky Martin gaining his fourth career win overall. THANK YOU BLUE (Blue Bresil) won twice in quick succession at Sedgefield by 8Ls on 19 Feb & then quickly followed up at Ludlow on 26 Feb by an impressive 13Ls for Jenny Candlish for owner Alan Baxter.
The Yorton team were also delighted to see TITAN DISCOVERY (Pether’s Moon) win at local track Bangor for Robbie Llewellyn & Owner/Breeders Kevin/Anne Glastonbury on his debut run over fences. The 8yo had shown a high level of form over hurdles & transferred that ability in taking fashion over the bigger obstacles to win by 31Ls from the Grade 2 placed & Skelton trained Mirabad on 25 Feb.
