GUK Yorton Sale Sneak Peek 115

The sale’s select offering, combined with its stunning location at the historic Yorton Farm in Wales, makes for a unique event on the European sale calendar.

Last year’s inaugural sale saw a top price of £105,000, a clearance rate of 91 per cent and buyers in attendance from throughout Europe. It has also produced its first winner with the three-year-old Paros winning his debut for Gabriel Leenders over hurdles in France. He will now be trained by Nicky Henderson.

The catalogue this year will once again feature a highly attractive line-up of youngstock that have been bred at Yorton or carefully selected from breeders throughout Europe.

Some of the many highlights include: Lot 11, a two-year-old Maxios half-brother to the Group 3 winner Steel Princess, dam of the Group 1 winner Sarah Lynx 19, a two-year-old Blue Bresil filly out of a half-sister to the Grade 1 winners All Yours and Lac Fontana 34, a two-year-old Pether’s Moon gelding out of the Listed-winning King’s Theatre mare Blue Buttons 38, a Blue Bresil yearling half-brother to the Listed winner and Grade 2-placed Thomas Campbell and Grade 2-placed Lisp, out of the Listed-placed mare Hora 40, a Blue Bresil yearling gelding out of the Grade 2-placed mare Land Of Vic and from the family of outstanding chaser See More Business

Yorton Stud owner David Futter said: “We were delighted with the level of support the sale received in 2019 which gave us the confidence to further invest this year and we have worked hard over the last 12 months to produce a larger and stronger catalogue.

“Like last year, we will provide loose jumping and conformational footage for all horses in the coming weeks and these will be available to view online. We encourage anyone who wishes to know more about the sale to contact us and we cannot wait to welcome the National Hunt world to Yorton next month.”

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent commented: “Last year’s inaugural sale surpassed all expectations, and witnessed some very strong trade, but it was also a superb event which captured the attention of the National Hunt industry.

“The beautiful setting provided by the stud made for a totally unique event and we left Yorton hugely impressed with what David, Chris and their team had put together.

“We are excited to be heading back to and look forward to welcoming everyone to the farm on September 10 where we will be strictly following the updated protocols to ensure that we comply with the UK government’s latest Covid-19 guidelines.”

To ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees, Goffs and Yorton will follow all government Covid-19 directives in place at the time of the sale.

Entry to the sale will be limited to those who wish to take part in the auction and those planning to attended must pre-register and complete the online Covid-19 medical form on the Goffs UK website which will open two weeks prior to the sale.
