As the new 2022/23 season gets into full swing, Magic Wave (6yo G by Gentewave) put up a dominant display to win a very competitive Bumper by 13 lengths at Ayr this afternoon (24/10/22)

Bred by long time Yorton supporters, Mr & Mrs Peter Nelson, the Mark Walford trained gelding had shown plenty of ability on his two previous starts finishing second on both occasions. Out of the Presenting mare Annie’s Gift, Magic Wave made all under Hawick jockey Jamie Hamilton to win under hands & heels crossing the line & looks a very exciting prospect once sent over obstacles.

The debutant The Kalooki Kid (4yo G by Gentlewave) was well fancied in the preliminaries & the Nicky Richards trained gelding came from well off the pace to chase home the winner. Sold as a foal for €18,000 by Yorton to Irish handler Martin Cullinane, he was subsequently picked up as a 3yo by Richards for €40,000 at the Land Rover Sale last year. He looks one to follow when next seen on a racecourse.

Gentlewave now looks to follow up his strong start to the season with his biggest crops of 3, 4 & 5yo’s set to run this season in the UK & in France.
