It is fair to say that the Yorton team were more than looking forward to progeny of Pether’s Moon going chasing given the size, scope & outlook the sire consistently produces in his stock.
EGBERT (6yo G ex Karla June) further enhanced that view by comfortably winning on his chase debut at Kempton this afternoon (13/11/23) in a competitive Novices’ Chase for Alan King. Having won over hurdles last season, the half brother to talented hurdler, Benson, Egbert jumped well throughout in the James & Jean Potter Ltd silks with the result never in doubt all the way up the home straight to score by an eased down 4 1/2Ls.
This was an excellent seasonal debut run & connections will now look to use this as a spring board to bigger things for this tall, athletic gelding.
With Pether’s Moon’ eldest stock only 6yo’s & given the increased quality of book he has covered over the last couple of seasons, he is one to take note of as an exciting up & coming NH sire.
