Yorton sires quick into stride in 2024

Although the festive celebrations of Christmas & New Year are now behind us, Yorton graduates have kept the ball rolling as we hid mid-January. With a host of racing on show throughout the last few weeks, one of the most emphatic winners was a graduate of the ‘Yorton Sale’

MOLLYS MANGO (6yo f by Clovis Du Berlais) sauntered to a run away success on New Year’s Day at Fairyhouse for the Gordon Elliot powerhouse winning by an eased down 17Ls. Having only her 7th career start, the Peel/Yorton homebred jumped impeccably throughout & will now look to step up in Grade with a potential swipe at the Grade 3 Solerina Hurdle. Mollys Mango was sold as a 2yo in the 2020 edition of the Yorton Sale for £30,000.

ITO DITTO (6yo g by Ito) looks to have a bright future for trainer Nicky Martin after he recorded his second win over hurdles at Chepstow on 27/12/23. Having won well at the same track earlier in the season, the son of ITO was never headed throughout the 2m contest to win gamely at the line. An athletic individual, he will no doubt been seen to better effect over the larger obstacles in time.

FESTIVE FOUR TIMER FOR GENTLEWAVE

Gentlewave is proving to be a real stalwart to the Yorton stallion ranks & the ever youthful son of Monsun racked up a four timer over the last couple weeks. GENTLE SLOPES (7yo g) was the most recent at Kempton (13/1/24) on his first run for Nicky Henderson & moreover, his first run after a slight setback since Jan ‘23. Another Yorton homebred who was traded privatley to the Bleahen family off the farm, the 7yo looks un-exposed & certainly one to follow as he continues his career at Seven Barrows.
