UNCLE BERT (above) continued his rise up the ratings last weekend (23/3/24) with an emphatic 12L win in the Class 2 Dragonbet H’Cap Hurdle live on ITV bringing his winning tally to four.

A homebred by James & Jean Potter, the son of Yorton favourite Pether’s Moon is very well regarded by his father/son traning combo Nigel & Willie Twiston-Davies with Jnr commenting afterwards “That was a lovely pot to win. UNCLE BERT is a very consistent horse and never seems to let us down. We’re very pleased for owners James and Jean Potter, who support us a lot and also bred him, as well as standing his sire Pether’s Moon”

PEP TALKING was yet another son of the Gr.1 winner to reach the winners enclosure when breaking his rules maiden at Huntingdon over fences on 17/3/24 for trainer Paul Webber. Having won a Maiden Point-to-Point last season for Champion trainers Tom & Gina Ellis at Garthorpe, this was the 6yo’s first run over fences with his trainer delighted with the performance. ore is surely to come from this tall, athletic 6yo.

MORE HOMEBRED SUCCESS

Two more Yorton homebreds also hit the target over the last week with CLOVIS BOY winning for Lucinda Russell at Newcastle on 26/3/24 in the hands of Grand National winning pilot, Derek Fox. Still only a 5yo, the son of Clovis du Berlais was sold at the 2021 Yorton Sale for £30,000 & will be one to follow over fences in time.

REGAL RENAISSANCE (below) gained her third victory at Chepstow on 17/3/24, winning the Class 3 H’Cap Mares Hurdle in good style by 8Ls. Bred by Yorton in partnership with Brendan Keogh & another by Clovis du Berlais, the 6yo mare is proving a very consistent type in the hands of Ludlow based Henry Daly.
