Masterstroke may have passed away a couple of years ago but his legacy lives on through his progeny, especially his debut British crop of 4yo’s.
Having stood in France prior to his arrival at Yorton, the son of Monsun had become a stud favourite prior to his untimely passing & Yorton are proud that his premier British crop & rewarding connections.
Tony & Maggie Palk rolled up to the Yorton Sale in 2023 & fell in love with a daughter of Masterstroke whom they bought for £30,000.
Now named LADY TADITA (4yo F) (pic below) & having won her debut bumper last season, the attractive filly followed up that success on her first attempt over hurdles at Market Rasen on 27/9/25. Trained by Jamie Snowden in Lambourn & having been highly touted beforehand, she did not disappoint & won easily by 8Ls in the hands of Gavin Sheehan, picking up a much coveted GBB bonus in the process!

The success was timely as only a couple of weeks earlier, Tony & Maggie had returned to the source & purchased Lady Taditia’s 2yo full sister at the Yorton Sale for £23,000 & we now look forward to following both Yorton homebreds through their careers.

PICKLAND CONTINUES TO SHINE
Over in France, another Yorton homebred & sale graduate, PICKLAND (4yo G), (main pic above) started the Autumn season in flying form by winning at France’s premier NH track, Auteuil, on 9/9/25 for Gabby Leenders in a 4yo only chase. On the back of this success, his trainer stepped him up in grade to Listed company where was just touched off into second place by a short neck in the Prix Bayonnet, Listed - again a 4yo only contest.
The winner had Grade 2 form with the front pair coming over 5Ls clear of the field. On that form alone, the son of Masterstroke looks an extremely bright prospect for the rest of the season where he will take on the best 4yo’s France has to offer & he will now be aimed at the Group 1 Prix Maurice Gillois in November.
Pickland was bought by his trainer for £30,000 at the 2023 Yorton Sale & has already amassed close to €100,000.
